Receiving MTF delegation: MSWRR UM received MTF delegation

Union Minister of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win met with a delegation led by Chairman of the Myanmar Tourism Federation (MTF) U Yan Win in the meeting hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

During the meeting, the MTF Chairman presented the organization’s structure, registration process, and recent activities. This included the establishment of a disaster response team on September 13, 2024, which provided flood relief efforts in Nay Pyi Taw, Taungoo, and Shan State (South).

He also discussed further plans for collaboration on rehabilitation work in flood-affected villages in Nay Pyi Taw. The Union Minister elaborated the National Disaster Management Committee's coordination role in disaster management, highlighted the current state of damage and loss due to flooding, and outlined national recovery plans.

He emphasized the importance of instilling disaster risk reduction and environmental conservation awareness among younger generations. He encouraged incorporating these principles into tourism initiatives to enhance community resilience and sustainable practices. The meeting was attended by the Director-General, Deputy Director-General, and officials from the Disaster Management Department.
