Graduation Ceremony for B.Ed. Degree: MoBA UM gave the congratulatory remarks at the ceremony

The University for the Development of the National Races of the Union held the Graduation Ceremony of the 5-year Education Degree Course No (6) and issued the recruitment certificate to the graduates on 29th October at the Convocation Hall of the University in Sagaing Region.

Union Minister Lt-Gen TunTunNaung, in his congratulatory remarks, noted that under the guidance of the State Administration Council, a focus has been placed on five points Roadmap and nine objectives aimed at establishing a genuine and disciplined multi-party democracy system to build a Federal Union.

To support this goal, the University for the Development of National Races of the Union (Sagaing) and the Nationalities Youth Resource Development Degree College (in Yangon and Sagaing) have been established to provide free advanced education to young people from ethnic communities in border regions.

Initially established as the Academy For Development of National Races on 20th October, 1964, the facility was upgraded to the University for the Development of the National Races of the Union on May 10th, 1991. Starting from 2011-2012 Academic Year, the 5-year Education Degree Course has already opened for 6 batches of the course.

Since its founding, there have been 156 trainees who completed the master’s degrees in education; 35 graduates of the master of Arts (philosophy) in education, 4,586 graduates in education; 932 who completed the diploma in teaching; 956 who completed the diploma in middle school teaching; 461 who completed the special primary teacher training course; altogether 14,288 young people were graduated.

He urged the graduates to continuously strive to improve their knowledge and skills in order to educate the youth under their care to embody the spirit of the Union. This includes helping young students become well-rounded in modern knowledge, broadening their perspectives and critical thinking, fostering a resilient and strong spirit, maintaining physical fitness, and developing into exemplary individuals of high moral standing.

The Minister encouraged the graduates to collaborate with local ethnic communities in the development efforts of their respective regions and to fulfill the responsibilities entrusted to them as capable and reliable public servants who are vital to the nation and its people.

Afterwards, Union Minister Lt-Gen TunTunNaung and the Chief Minister of Sagaing Region U MyatKyaw awarded the outstanding students, and the Permanent Secretary handed over the recruitment certificates to 207 graduates.

After the ceremony, the Union Minister and Chief Minister met with the outstanding prize winners and their family members, extended words of honor, posed for the documentary photo together with the training completed trainees and cordially greeted the parents of the outstanding prize winners.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister inspected the status of renovation for Myanmar Map for the strength of Union spirit, cleaning and beautifying the arch-entrance of the university, repairing works of drainages for the utilization of pumping river water, upgrading works of sports ground and hall, implementation of agriculture and livestock breeding and gave necessary instructions.

In the evening, the Union Minister, Region Chief Minister, invited guests and the graduated students were hosted a dinner in honour of the graduates at the Convocation Hall on behalf of the SAC Chairman Prime Minister, handed over the gifts presented by the Prime Minister for the graduated students, enjoyed the entertainment programs performed by the students and presented cash awards.
