







Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan conducted a field inspection of agriculture and livestock activities in Naung Pon Village, Nang Kwe Village Tract, Myitkyina Township, on October 29 as part of the state government's efforts to improve food security through enhanced agricultural and livestock production.
During the visit, the Chief Minister toured the private property of U Zaw Sai, which includes 20 acres dedicated to fish ponds and rice fields growing high-yield rice. The grounds are being developed into a public relaxation area featuring landscaping nad ornamental gardens, a motel, and a small private hospital. The Chief Minister provided guidance on crop diversification and systematic fish farming, and collaborated with departmental officials to support fish species development.
The Chief Minister also visited a 15-acre vegetable farm within the village, reviewing crop productivity and discussing to provide assistance for the farmers and individual growers on achieving optimal crop yields, increasing farmers' income, and accessing the necessary inputs through organized support.
Later, the Chief Minister and party attended a coordination meeting at the State Department of Sports and Physical Education on organizing the National Ethnic Affairs Minister’s Cup, a multi-ethnic national football tournament, scheduled to begin on November 1.
The Chief Minister encouraged participation in the tournament, highlighting its role in advancing football standards and promoting unity among the local ethnic groups. Sports uniforms and 500,000 kyats in funding were also distributed to six participating Kachin ethnic football teams, amounting to a total of 3 million kyats, with similar provisions for five Shan ethnic teams and one Bamar team.
In the afternoon, the Chief Minister chaired a State Committee for Land Management meeting at the state government office, addressing the management of vacant and fallow lands.
At the meeting, Chief Minister discussed the necessary process to be implemented and Committee member clarified the case files applied to the State Committee.
In the evening, he attended the semi-final match of the U-20 Men’s Football Tournament organized by the Kachin State Football Federation, between Brother FC and Malikha FC. The match, part of preparations for the 5th National Sports Festival, was attended by the Chief Minister, the State Supreme Court Chief Justice, state ministers, departmental officials, and football fans.
