






The Union Minister for the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung accompanied by Shan State Minister for Ethnic Affairs, Chairman of the Administrative Body of Pa-O Self-Administered Zone and members and the officials from the Ministry met with the Ethnic Literature and Culture Committees and held a discussion in Hopone Township on 28th October.
In his remark at the meeting, the Union Minister said that the Ministry is implementing to preserve and develop literature and culture heritages, the ethnic affairs and the tasks for the improvement of health, education and socioeconomic development to promote solidary of genuine patriotic spirit of Union spirit in line with the laws and by-laws enacted by the Union Government,
The Ministry is collaborating with the coordination of the Ministry of Education to facilitate the objective included on the social objectives set by the State “to implement the multi-education system inclusive of all so as to enhance education and the intellectual level of the entire people and turn out a large number of skilled technicians contributing to the manufacturing sector in order to turn out educated persons.
”From 2017 to 2024-2025 Academic Year, the Ministry of Education, in line with national education policies, has appointed a total of 18,427 teaching assistants (TAs) and language teachers (LTs) for ethnic languages across the country in government schools, including ethnic language and literature classes. Ethnic language and cultural associations are required to be officially registered according to the law.
The ministry will continue to facilitate this registration in an orderly manner in accordance with the Registration of Association Law and ensure that projects benefiting ethnic communities are conducted in compliance with the legal standards, without compromising national security and the public interest.
Based on the Union Spirit and without affecting the three national causes, all government personnel are encouraged to contribute the best efforts toward the establishment of a democratic and federal Union, which the people and ethnic people across the country aspire to.
Next, the Shan State Minister for Ethnic Affairs and Chairman of Administrative Body of Pa-O Self-Administered Zone clarified the ethnic affairs in Shan State and the development matters and implementation for the ethnic literature and culture.
Then, the discussions on the ethnic affairs and regional development by the Ethnic Literature and Culture Associations were supplemented by the Director of the Department of Ethnic Rights. On the discussions, the Union Minister, State Minister and Chairman of Self-Administered Zone coordinated requirements and the Union Minister gave a speech of conclusion.
The Union Minister, State Minister and Chairman of Self-Administered Zone provided cash assistance for the ethnic literature and culture associations in Shan State.In the afternoon, the Union Minister and party visited Shan State Ethnic Affairs and Vocational Training Center located in Kha-Paung Yay Kyi Ward, Ayethaya Town in Taunggyi, inspected training hall, dormitory, dining hall and workshop facility and gave necessary instructions.
In the evening, the Union Minister and party inspected pipeline connected from Thit-Pin-Htaung water source to training center for the sufficient water of the trainees, completion of constructing Transformer and water pumping with solar system and gave necessary instruction.
