Rural Development: MCRD Union Minister tours in Tatkone

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe visited Myauk Myaik Village in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone Township on Friday, and met with local farmers.

He urged all to strive for boosting cotton production, cultivating quality species and production of high yield cotton seeds locally in cooperation with the private entrepreneurs. He also stressed the need to supervise for applying the designated agricultural practices, and provide assistance for gaining strong markets.

During the meeting, the Union Minister provided crop seeds and fertilizers to the farmers. They then observed the harvesting of cotton at Dahat Kone Village, cultivated by 19 member farmers of Lin Yaung Chi Cooperative Association.

On arrival at Aye Chan Tha Model Village, the Union Minister viewed the production process of textile by machine weaving, and discussed the availability of thread needed for textile production locally.
