




The Magway Region Investment Committee held its (9/2024) meeting on October 24 at the meeting hall of the Magway Region Government Office. The meeting was attended by the Committee’s Chairman and Chief Minister of Magway Region, U Tint Lwin, as well as committee members.
During the meeting, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin stated that in the first six months of 2024-2025 fiscal year, a total of six investment projects had been approved in Magway Region, with an investment value of over 30.417 billion Kyats, creating job opportunities for two foreign nationals and 535 locals. He emphasized that, in alignment with national economic development goals, the committee is working to attract more investment to the region by granting approvals in accordance with the Investment Law, rules, and procedures. Additionally, efforts are being made to ensure the smooth operation of existing investments and to encourage domestic investments. To support the growth of MSMEs, the committee is actively working to reduce obstacles for new businesses, facilitate capital flow, provide educational resources, and strengthen links between information channels. This approach aims to create a favorable business environment that attracts international supply chains and makes Magway Region an attractive location for economic activity.
Following this, Committee members discussed the oversight and support provided by the Magway Region Investment Supervision Group.
