






A commemoration ceremony for 60th anniversary of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme took place at the Myanmar International Convention Center II in Nay Pyi Taw with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The ceremony commenced with the screening of video clip on the ITEC Programme. Then, the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar extended greetings, explaining the implementation of the ITEC programme. In his speech, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing expressed that initiated in 15th September 1964, the ITEC Programme has so far conducted skill enhancement training courses to over 200,000 staff from 160 countries across the world.
The programme plays one of the pivotal roles for skill enhancing of civil service personnell in Myanmar and through these training courses, the civil servants from different sectors have gained many benefits. The Prime Minister extended his wish for the ITEC Program to achieve more success in the future, and stressed that the mutual respect and friendly relations between the two countries will continue to strengthen year by year, through bilateral cooperation and common expectations.
It was followed by the signing of MoUs on Quick Impact Projects including upgrading of Digital Forensic Laboratory, providing teaching aids for Myanmar Administrative Development Training School, providing solar-powered water supply project in the Central Myanmar, construction of Artificial Intelligent Lab at Yangon Technological University and trial operation for rural development using agricultural wastes.
This was followed by cultural performance by Indian and Myanmar cultural troupes. Then, the former trainees of ITEC Programme shared their experience. Then, the Prime Minister together with the attendees enjoyed the dinner reception in honour of the 60th anniversary of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme.
