Traditional Culture and Preservation: Awarding ceremony for performing arts competition

Awarding ceremony of the 25th Silver Jubilee Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition was held at the Myanmar International Convention Center-2 in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

Also present at the occasion were wife of the Chairman of the State Administration Council Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council deputy prime minister Vice Senior General Soe Win and wife, Union level officials, Union Ministers, Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council and many other concerned officials.

In his speech, the Senior General said that the government is systematically managing and promoting Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition every year to improve the quality and level of the competition.

The national culture, national spirit and value systems are key factors of independent development of a region.He urged all artists and new generation to continue safeguard the country and future of its people with the power of art to be on the right path for the country’s development.

He also urged all the relevant officials and artists to preserve and promote the cultural heritage, arts and national characteristics, and prevent the danger of foreign culture penetration. This was followed by presentation of honorary awards to ethnic dance troupes from Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine and Shan States. Also, the medals and certificates of honor to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd award winners of the respective contests of the 25th Silver Jubilee Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition.
