





Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung visited the office of the Prime Minister in Vientiane City of Lao PDR and paid courtesy call to the Prime Minister Mr. SonexaySiphandone on 22nd October.
Also present at the call were Myanmar Ambassador to Lao PDR and officials. At the meeting, they discussed the matters on the formal migration of workers with the bilateral commitment by signing MoU and Agreement between the two countries, carrying out the process of issuing documents of trans-border workers with the coordination of relevant ministries of both countries, continuation of friendly cooperation between the two countries by addressing the challenges on the regional labour issue and the acceleration of bilateral cooperation facilitating long term strengthening regarding with migration of workers between the two nations.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister and officials visited a factory of Alpilao International Sole Limited in Vientiane, met with the Myanmar migrant workers and gave an elaboration on remitting 25% of salary earned in abroad to the family members through the official banking system or Remittance Business License (RBL) holders permitted by the Central Bank of Myanmar and it’s not to remit to the Government but only to the family members through official channel etc. Then, the Union Minister presented Thadingyut memorable gifts to Myanmar workers, it’s learnt.
