Opening of football competition: Kachin State CM attended opening ceremony

Kachin State Government is putting efforts for the participation in 2024 5th National Sports Festival and achieving success, on 21st October, the opening ceremony of Kachin State Football Federation Chairman’s Cup U-20 Men Football Competition was held at State People’s Sports Ground in Myitkyina Township with the attendance of State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan and wife, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Ministers and their wives and State level officials.

First, Kachin State Football Federation Chairman U La Aung clarified the development of Kachin State football sport, emergence of many youth selection athletes and arrangements for selection of youth athletes for National Sports Festival and objectives of organizing competitions.

Next, Chief Minister, Chief Justice of State High Court, State Ministers, State level departmental officials and State Football Federation Chairman cordially greeted the coaches and athletes and provided footballs.

After that, the performances of dance groups and bicycle groups were enjoyed and the State Ministers provided cash of honor and then watched the opening match between Mann Khein team and Malikha team.

The football competition is being participated by 7 teams of District Sports and Physical Education Department and wards football clubs. The youth footballers will be selected from the competition, conducted camping training for representing State in 5th National Sports Festival. The Kachin State U-21 football team achieved the championship trophy in the Regions and States Football Competition this year for the first time after 16 years, it’s reported.
