Meeting of State NDMC: Shan State CM coordinated requirements

The coordination meeting of Shan State Natural Disaster Management Committee was held at the Government office in Taunggyi on 21st October and the State Chief Minister U Aung Aung gave an opening speech.

In his opening speech, Chairman of Shan State Natural Disaster Management Committee and Chief Minister said mentioning that during the previous meeting, they had already discussed the collection and accuracy of records by township and department related to the impact of Typhoon Yagi. He emphasized the need for consistency in the reporting of damage and loss data, to avoid discrepancies in figures.

Reports on recovery efforts are submitted biweekly, and only by presenting accurate on-the-ground actions can they demonstrate the progress of the work. The Chief Minister also stated that all recovery activities must be completed by March 5, 2025, and relevant departments will continue to take follow-up actions based on the reports submitted.

Next, the secretary of the Committee clarified the situations of damages caused by Typhoon Yagi and statuses of rescue and rehabilitation work implementation with recorded photos.Then, joint-secretary and State level departmental officials clarified the damages caused Typhoon, work implementations and action plans.

Next, the Chairmen of Kalaw, Loilin, Namsan Districts Natural Disaster Management Committees also reported the damages caused Typhoon, work implementations and action plans.Upon the clarifications and reports, the State Ministers made supplemented discussions.After that, Chief Minister gave necessary instructions and coordinated requirements.
