Union Government meeting(7/2024): SAC Chairman delivered a speech at the meeting

The Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech at the Union Government meeting (7/2024) held at the SAC Chairman’s office in Nay Pyi Taw on 21st October.

Also present at the meeting were SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win, Union Ministers, Union level officials, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Chin State Chief Minister and officials in person and Chief Ministers of Regions and States in Video Conferencing.

In his opening speech, SAC Chairman emphasized the matters of Nationwide Population and Housing Census enumerated from 1st to 15th October and the enumeration to be continued in the remaining areas, acknowledging those who participated in the rescuing and rehabilitation tasks for the flood victims occurred in some regions and states including Nay Pyi Taw, completion of Silver Jubilee Myanmar Traditional Performing Arts Competition and prize awarding ceremony to be held soon, the Chief Ministers of the Regions and States, along with the ministries, are working to implement activities aligned with their respective sectors and the interests of their regions.

Therefore, it is necessary to report relevant matters that should be known at the national level. By doing so, the Union government can provide the necessary guidance, issue directions and address any gaps that need to be filled. Particularly in border areas, it is crucial to respond promptly to emerging issues, which requires making timely and prioritized reports, the exerted effort to be one of the countries which provides global food security, the agriculture and livestock breeding sectors are needed to implement successfully by exploiting existing favorable geographical features productively, efforts for producing export quality timber, bamboo, rattan and other forest products, MSMEs to be supported for producing value-added products based on the renewable natural resources such as the timber, bamboo, rattan, rubber etc. Magway, Sagaing, Mandalay Region should lead the cotton based industries and need to fill the domestic need regarding with cotton.

The SAC Chairman also pointed out the necessary capacity building of the teachers and good look of the schools for the education sector and the preparations of the Regions and States for the domestic tourists in such an open season.

Next, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Regions and States Chief Ministers clarified the implementations for the education, health, agricultural sectors and goods production. Regarding with the clarifications, the SAC Chairman gave necessary instructions.  Then, the Union Ministers reported the matters on the relevant sectors. Upon the reports, the SAC Chairman gave necessary guidelines and delivered a speech of conclusion.
