Restoring Normalcy: Gold Foils Offering and efforts for Inle Lake Sustainability

A ceremony to offer gold foils to the Buddha Images of Inle PhaungDawOo Pagoda was held on Sunday. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung and officials attended the ceremony and offered gold foils to the Buddha Images together with the community elders and local residents as well as the pilgrims.

Then, the Sayadaws led by the State Ovada Cariya MongThauk Sayadaw consecrated the Buddha Images. Later in the day, the Chief Minister attended a meeting for sustainability of Inle Lake. The meeting discussed matters on supply of water and electricity in Inle area, restoring normalcy of education, health and transportation and clearing debris drifting along the Inle Lake due to the inundation.

The Chief Minister also provided 10 million kyat for supplying water for drinking and other purposes. After the meeting, the Chief Minister inspected the renovation of retaining wall at PhaungDawSeik Jetty, reopening of Mingalar Market in NyaugnShwe and implementation for better drainage system.
