



The 25th Anniversary (Silver Jubilee) Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition (Central Level) continued in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife DawKyuKyuHla enjoyed the contests, held at Myanmar International Convention Center (2), together with the Council members and their wives, Union Ministers and their wives, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Deputy Ministers, members of judges, supervisors, contestants and enthusiasts.
At the Plenary Hall, the Prime Minister and party enjoyed the performance of Chin traditional dances. Contestants, representing respective regions and states, showed their skills, depicting the Chin traditional dancing patterns, with the accompaniment of the song “Welcome to Chin Hill”.
At night, the Prime Minister and party enjoyed the Marionette Drama Contest at Yin KyayHmuYadana Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture. “Yadana” Marionette Drama Troupe, representing Mandalay Region staged “Vessantara” Drama for the Amateur Level (First Class) Contest.
The Marionette Drama Contest was added to the Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition in 1998, performing “Vidhura” Jataka, in order to preserve the marionette arts from extinction.
