Buddha Pujaniya Festival: Rice Offering Ceremony at Magway’s Myathalun Pagoda

Magway Region Government organized the Rice Offering Ceremony as part of the 2588th Buddha Pujaniya Festival of Myathalun Pagoda on Saturday.

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, together with officials, attended the ceremony and offered rice to the Sayadaws and nuns from the Sarthintaiks and Monasteries in Magway. The annual Magway Myathalun Pagoda Festival has been organized till 2019, and was suspended for three years due to COVID-19 pandemic. The festival resumed in 2013.

This year festival is being held for 20 days from 12th to 31st October, featuring various activities including donating rice and offertories to the members of the Sangha, reciting of uninterrupted Parittas, offering 9,000 oil lamps, flowers and joss sticks, and rice offering ceremony.
