Preparation in Full Swing: Silver Jubilee Myanmar Traditional Performing Arts Competition

Patron of the Leading Committee for Organizing 25th anniversary Silver Jubilee Myanmar Traditional Performing Arts Competition, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win inspected the preparation measures for the competition on Saturday.

The Vice Senior General and party visited the Open Theatre of the Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee and Myanmar International Convention Center (2), and assessed the rehearsal for the opening ceremony and preparation measures. They then proceeded to the Nay Pyi Taw Transit Camp where the judges, contestants and their parents and administrative teams will be accommodated. They assessed the preparation of hostels, mess hall, catering areas, restaurants and consumer goods shop as well as training by the contestants and readiness of the medical teams.

During the 25th anniversary Silver Jubilee Myanmar Traditional Performing Arts Competition, the MICC-2 will host the Classical, Modern and National Spirit Promoting Songs subjects of Singing Contest, Ethnic and Rural Traditions, Myanmar Basic Gabyalut, Chin Tradition and Marionette subjects of the Dancing Contest and Piano, Guitar, Don Min and Mandolin subjects of Musical Instrument Playing Contest. Song Composing Contest and Marionette Theatrical Drama Contest will be hosted at Yin KyayHmuYadana Hall of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, while the Training Theatre hosts Short Drum, Open-Ended Drum and Violin subject of Musical Instrument Playing Contest and Dramatic Monologue Contest.

Likewise, team and individual traditional orchestra contests will be hosted at the National Library, Harp, Oboe, Flute and Xylophone contests at the National Museum and the Theatrical Drama Contest at the Open Theatre.

Over 2,500 contestants from regions and states will take part in the competition to be held from October 14th to 20th, aiming to uplift national prestige and integrity and to preserve the cultural heritage and national characteristics, to explore, preserve and uplift the traditional cultural heritage of performing arts of ethnic nationals and national cultural characteristics, to explore and preserve the traditional cultural heritage for the young generation and further propagate the national spirit and to serve as a national cultural entity for State development, peace and stability.
