Clearing Debris: Restoration efforts underway at Htan San Cave

Htan San natural cave in Hopone Township, located in the Pa-O Self-administered Zone of Shan State (South), has been inundated due to heavy rain in September.

On Sunday, a collective cleaning task was carried out at the cave to clear the debris left by the floods. Htan San natural cave is a famous destination in Hopone, known for its naturally formed stalagmites and stalactites, attracting visitors from near and far.

The cave is 15 ft wide and 12 ft high, allowing visitors to explore up to 2,185 ft inside.Due to the heavy rain, Hopone Township has experienced damage to infrastructure and plantations, in addition to the impact on Htan San Cave. Well-wishers have made donations for rehabilitation efforts, including 3.25 million kyat for the renovation of Htan San Cave and 10 million kyat for the affected community in Hopone.
