Online celebrity couple arrested for fraud

Consumer protection authorities have arrested online celebrity couple for fraud and misleading advertisements.

Their residence was searched for additional evidence related to their gold shop in Bangkok, where they promoted allegedly substandard gold ornaments through live online sales to 4.6 million followers.

Customers began raising concerns after they were unable to sell gold necklaces purchased from K2N, the couple's shop, to other dealers. Frustrated customers demanded buybacks for their purchases last week. Experts on a recent talk show examined items from the shop, claiming that advertised “pure gold” gifts were actually made of paper. The couple is currently detained at the Consumer Protection Bureau for further questioning.
