Deportation: Myanmar and China collaborate to combat online fraud

The Myanmar Police Force and China’s Ministry of Public Security are collaborating to promote the rule of law and combat online fraud between the two countries. According to information exchanged between the two institutions, 20 suspects involved in online fraud, who were wanted by China, were arrested during a raid in July 2024 in Yangon and Mandalay.

These suspects were deported to China on September 19th in accordance with the proper procedures. The Myanmar Police Force is taking effective action against online fraud cases and is cooperating with neighboring countries to eradicate online fraud and gambling in border areas, following the relevant laws and procedures.
