Prize Awarding Ceremony: MOI UM gave opening speech and awarded trophy

The prize awarding ceremony of 2024 Ministry of Information Union Minister’s Trophy SepakTakraw (Men) Competition was held at the WunnaTheiddi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday with the attendance of Union Minister U MaungMaungOhn.

In his opening remark, Union Minister said that in accordance with the motto of “Uplifting the sports arena reflects safeguarding the State”, sportsmanship brings about the patriotic spirit of the country resulted emergence of spirit to Defense the country.

The Government is organizing the sports competitions to meet that need. The personnel of the departments under the Ministry are urged to do continuous preparations for the sports activities to be a Ministry where the personnel are healthy, happy in unity.

In the event of play-off for third place held on Wednesday, the Team News and Periodicals Enterprise beat the Team of Department of Media Development with 2-0.At the final match, the Team MRTV secured victory over Team of the Information and Public Relations with 3-0.After awarding consolation prize, fourth, third and second prizes to the winner Teams by the departmental officials, permanent secretary, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint respectively, Union Minister U MaungMaungOhn awarded individual medal, cash prize and Union Minister’s Trophy to the first prize winner the Team MRTV.

The Union Minister also awarded the best player prize, presented memorable gift to the board of jury contributed by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and took documentary photo together with the athletes. The competition was held from 23rd to 25th September and taken party by 6 teams of departments and enterprises under the Ministry, it’s learnt.
