A ceremony was held at the Dekhina Thiri Township General Administration Department to provide business equipment to outstanding trainees set to launch small-scale businesses through the Rural Families Income Enhancement Project in Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw.

The event was attended by Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, along with other relevant officials. At the ceremony, the Union Minister highlighted that training courses would help establish family-owned MSME businesses, which are vital for the country’s economic growth.

He discussed producing value-added products from local raw materials and expanding these businesses for export, while the Small Scale Industries Department plans to implement these goals in fiscal year 2023-2024, aiming to boost family income and promote import substitution.

Through the Rural Families Income Enhancement Project, 151 training sessions were conducted in 151 villages, benefiting 755 entrepreneurs. The activities undertaken by the Small Scale Industries Department are systematically aligned with the three social and three economic objectives of the State Administration Council.

Subsequently, sewing machines, ice cream makers, soap-mixers, welding machines and related equipment were provided to 30 outstanding trainees from Meide, Kyauk Yay, YayOZin, TaeKyiGone, and KyarInn villages in Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw. After taking documentary photos, the Union Minister and relevant officials toured the displayed booths and warmly greeted the trainees preparing to launch their small-scale businesses.
