6th Conference of AACC: Myanmar delegation attended the conference in Thailand

At the invitation of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand, Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union U Aung Zaw Thein attended the 6th Conference of Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions- AACC and board member states meeting in Bangkok of Thailand from 17th to 21st September.

The conference was held with the theme “the Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions in Strengthening Constitutional Justice for Sustainable Society”. On 18th September, the opening ceremony of the conference and board member states meeting were held.

During the meeting, reports on work implementations of the 3 permanent secretariats were presented, matters on development of AACC and road map as well as the Bangkok Declaration were discussed.

The 6th conference of the AACC was held on 19th September and the Chairman of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union made discussion under the titled “The Role of the Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions in Strengthening Constitutional Justice for Sustainable Society” highlighting the development process of the constitution system, crucial role of constitutional courts in safeguarding constitution as well as the Constitutional jurisdiction.

The attendees exchanged their experiences and knowledge on constitutional courts respectively. The 6th conference of the AACC and the board member states meeting were attended by chairmen of the constitutional courts and equivalent institutions, Chief Justice of Supreme Court, legal experts and senior officials of the international organizations from 18 countries. Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union U Aung Zaw Thein arrived back in Yangon on 21st September.
