Relief Measures: Provisions and encouragement for the flood affected community

Members of the National Disaster Management Committee Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn and Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing visited the flood-hit villages in Nay Pyi Taw Tatkone and nearby areas on Friday.

At the relief camp opened at the Maha Zanaka Monastery, they comforted the affected community and provided the relief items. During the visit, famous artists and comedians entertained the flood affected people with the accompaniment of the MRTV modern music troupe.

Over 200 individuals from 81 households from three wards and villages are being accommodated at the Maha Zanaka Monastery. They also visited the relief camp at Chan Myae Myine Yeiktha where over 400 affected people from six wards and villages are taking shelter.

During the visit, over 5 million kyat worth of relief items donated by the MRTV, M Entertainment and Elevate Broadcast Myanmar Co., Ltd and the Ministry of Immigration and Population were donated for the flood hit communities.

In the afternoon, Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn inspected the measures for uninterrupted transmission of MRTV programs, using two 1,250 KVA Generators, water supply to the main building and staff housing, and instructed for regular maintenance of the facilities with readiness for the any circumstances.

They then visited the relief camps at the Thapyay Taung Tawya Monastery and Maha Laeti San Monastery and provided the relief items along with the entertainment programs. The Ministry of Information has provided 5 million kyat worth of relief items to the flood hit victims in Pyinmana Township.
