Since September 10, Myanmar has been experiencing severe weather conditions caused by the impact of Typhoon Yagi, resulting in widespread heavy rainfall, landslides and erosion across various states and regions.

The torrential rains have triggered hazardous mountain streams, intensifying the damage to infrastructure. The Taunggyi-Loilem Road Section in Shan State has also damaged due to the landslides.

In response to these escalating challenges, State Transport Minister U Nay Win Aung conducted a field inspection on September 19 to inspect the clearance operations along the damaged road section.

During the inspection, the State Minister instructed swift clearance to restore traffic flow, expedite relief efforts and accelerate goods transport, coordinating the needs.
