



On 18th September, a work coordination meeting was held in the conferencing room of the Mandalay Region Agriculture Department in Meikhtila District.
The discussion focused on the impact of the recent heavy rainfall caused by Typhoon Yagi, which led to flooding in various districts and townships within the Mandalay Region, resulting in crop damage. The discussion included plans for timely replanting, strategies for rehabilitating affected farmlands, and maximizing the yields from unaffected areas.
The officials also made presentation about the condition of crop damage due to the flood. The farmers reported the current obstacles and requirements to prevent the decline of agricultural production in the region.
Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr.Tin Htut addressed the need to timely list of crops to be replanted based on different areas after the flooding. He emphasized the pre-collection of seeds and coordination with farmers on the types of crops that they can replant.
The discussion also included the necessary measures for managing pest and disease control efforts systematically. Relevant departments and framers are collaborating the efforts of timely measure for re-cultivation of damaged plantations in Meikhitla, Yamethin and Kyaukse Districts.
