Bilateral Cooperation: Russia’s trade delegation paid courtesy call to MoH UM

A delegation led by Mr. Vladimir Kazadaev head of the office of Russia’s trade representative to Myanmar paid courtesy call to the Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 18th September and discussed the matters on cooperation on importing and distribution of medicines and medical equipment between Myanmar and Russian Federation.

During the meeting, there were discussions about the matters on Russia's donation of medicines and medical supplies in response to the recent floods in Myanmar, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Napalkov Cancer Center in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Myanmar’s Ministry of Health and the Department of Medical Services to collaborate on cancer treatment, which took place recently, and further cooperation on this matter, collaboration between Russian pharmaceutical companies and Myanmar's Ministry of Industry and BPI Pharmaceutical Factory for domestic production of medicines and medical supplies, the procurement of affordable Rapid Diagnostic Test kits produced by Russia; the registration and recognition of Russian-made medicines and medical supplies by Myanmar’s FDA and ongoing cooperation in healthcare initiatives between the two countries.

Both sides exchanged views cordially on these topics.
