Receiving Representative of UNHCR: MoIP UM received UNHCR resident represent

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received a delegation led by Ms. Noriko Takagi UNHCR resident representative to Myanmar at the Ministry on 18th September.

During the meeting, both sides cordially exchanged views on the matters of ongoing implementation of the repatriation process for displaced persons from Rakhine State under the tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) framework between the Ministry and UNDP-UNHCR, the possibility of extending the MoU’s validity, the visa issues for foreign UNHCR staff, coordination with relevant departments regarding the procedures for importing materials from abroad, the facilitation of travel and residence arrangements for regional staff, and the continuation of collaborative efforts between the Ministry and UNDP-UNHCR.
