Inspection Tour: MCRD UM inspected impacts of disaster

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe received a delegation led by UNDP resident representative Mr. Titon Mitra at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on 18th September.

At the meeting, they frankly exchanged views on the programs to be co-implemented by the Ministry and the UNDP. Next, the Union Minister together with Deputy Minister and officials visited temporary flood relief center at Myo-U monastery, comforted the flood-affected people from the villages of Pyinmana and Zayyathirit Townships and provided foodstuff and consumer goods.

After that, Union Minister and party inspected the damages of inter-Village road in Kyun-U Village of Pyinmana Township, situations in inundated Ywa Thit Village of Zayyathiri Township, flood eroded wood bridge spanned between Shwe Myo (East) and Shwe Myo (West) on Yangon-Mandalay oil Road in Tatkone Township and gave necessary instructions.

Then, the Union Minister and party inspected completion of re-constructing Bailey bridge in place of Hsin Thay Bridge on Kyi Taung Kan-Zeegone-Laytha Inter-Village Road damaged by the water erosion in Pubbathiri Township and gave the necessary instructions.
