German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visits Kazakhstan to boost trade in rare earths, oil

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz visited in Kazakhstan, where he takes part in bilateral talks with the country's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, signing a number of agreements.

Germany seeks to promote bilateral economic relations with Kazakhstan, Scholz said during his meeting with Kazakh President at Akorda on Monday. Germany and other EU countries have sought to deepen ties with Central Asia in recent years. Earlier on Monday, Scholz was in neighbouring Uzbekistan.
