Delegation arrived back: Delegation attended 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum

A delegation led by the Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister, and Union Minister for Defense, Admiral Tin Aung San, attended the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, held in Beijing, China, at the invitation of Admiral Dong Jun, Minister for the Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China.

The delegation returned to Yangon International Airport in the evening of September 15, 2024, where they were welcomed by the Chief Minister of Yangon Region, the Yangon Region Military Commander, senior military officials, and the officials from the Chinese military attaché in Myanmar.

The delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister, and Union Minister for Defense, Admiral Tin Aung San arrived at Beijing Capital Airport in the morning of September 12, 2024.

In the evening, they attended a welcoming dinner hosted by General Jiang You Xia, Vice Chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission.

On the morning of September 13, the Myanmar delegation participated in the opening ceremony and the plenary meeting of the 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum.

During the opening ceremony, a message from the President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Xi Jinping, was read, and Admiral Dong Jun, the Minister for the Ministry of National Defense of China, delivered the opening speech.

Following this, the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Defense met with General He Weidong, the Vice Chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission, at Bayi Hall in Beijing. They discussed enhancing cooperation in various defense-related fields, strengthening bilateral relations, advancing military technology collaboration, and exchanging views on current regional and Myanmar-specific conditions.

The delegation then participated in the 2nd Plenary Session of the Forum and attended regional security forums in the afternoon. In the evening, they attended a gala dinner hosted by Admiral Dong Jun.

On the morning of September 14, the delegation attended a discussion on "Chinese Initiatives of Global Affairs" hosted by H.E. Mr. Chen Xiaodong, the Deputy Foreign Minister of China, and continued to participate in the 3rd and 4th Plenary Sessions.

During the trip, the Myanmar delegation visited high-tech industrial companies based in Beijing, to explore advanced aviation technologies, unmanned aerial vehicle production, electronic warfare, and air defense technologies. They engaged in discussions with company representatives regarding potential technology cooperation.

The delegation also visited the Myanmar Embassy in China, met with the Ambassador of Myanmar, and engaged with military attachés (Army, Navy, Air), embassy staff, and their families to provide updates on the current situation and developments in Myanmar. They presented gifts to the embassy staff and their families before departing Beijing Capital Airport for Yangon.

The 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum was attended by over 1,800 representatives from more than 100 countries, including 22 Deputy Prime Ministers and defense ministers, as well as experts from international organizations.
