Donating Offertories: Provisions donated for the flood-affected monasteries

Sayadaws from 22 flood-affected monasteries in Nay Pyi Taw Council area, are temporarily accommodating at Mahn Aung Monastery in Pyinmana Township.

On Saturday, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin OoLwin and other concerned officials donated offertories and cash to the Sayadaws. The ceremony began with the recitations of "Namotassa" three times by members of the Sangha and the congregation. Following this, the Union Minister and congregation received the Five Precepts from the Vice Chairman of the Pyinmana Sangha Nayaka Committee, the Sayadaw of Aung TaGon Monastery.

The event continued with the donation of offertories and cash to several flood-affected monasteries within Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, including Aung TaGon, MaUPin, ThaNatPinZate, ThitSaintPin, ZeePhyuPin, and KyeePhyuYoe Monasteries. Subsequently, the congregation listened to a sermon delivered by the Sayadaw of Aung TaGon Monastery and shared the merits gained for the donations.

The ceremony concluded with the recitation of “Buddha SasananCiranTitthatu” three times. The Union Minister and party then proceeded to pay homage to the residing Sayadaw of OhnTaw Monastery, where they offered offertories, shared the merits gained, and provided a day meal for about 405 members of the Sangha.

They also offered comfort to over 520 flood-affected individuals from Pyinmana and Zeyathiri Townships residing at the monastery and donated a collection of Buddha’s discourses, stupas, and basic foodstuffs. At present, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture has donated 4 million Kyat in cash and offertories to members of Sangha from 55 flood-affected monasteries and nunneries in Pyinmana and Pobbathiri Townships of Nay Pyi Taw.
