Relief and Rescue Measures: MCRD Union Minister tours flood-hit areas

Chairman of the Work Committee on Rehabilitation of Livelihoods Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe made inspection tour to assess the damages caused by the heavy rain in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

At Ngwe Taung Tawya Monastery in Tatkone, the Union Minister comforted the flood affected victims, pledged to provide speedy repair of damaged roads, bridges and water supply infrastructures as well as for cultivation of monsoon paddy and other crops as soon as possible.

During the visit, over 187 million kyat worth relief items were provided for the floods victims from 8 relief camps. On arrival at Magyipin Village, the Union Minister oversaw the damages of residential houses and losses of livestock and assessed the destroyed roads and bridges. They also inspected the damages of infrastructures, and instructed for speedy repair works with long term durability.

At the relief camp in Nat Thuye Village of Pyinmana Township, they Union Minister pledged for soonest restoration of damaged infrastructures and engaging cultivation works and provided foodstuff for the victims. They then oversaw the relief and rescue measures being carried out by the Tatmadawmen and social organizations at Paw San Khawt Village.

At the relief camp in Pyan Chi Village in Lewe Township, they comforted the flood victims and provided foodstuff.
