Response Measures: National Disaster Management Committee meeting

National Disaster Management Committee held its work coordination meeting at the Disaster Management Center under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen YarPyae, in his capacity as the National Disaster Management Committee Chairman (1) said that inundation has caused in some regions and states due to heavy rains triggered by typhoon Yagi and rescue operations are conducting in flooded areas. He also stressed the needs for implementation of rehabilitation works and provision for the flood victims by related working committees and ministries in a timely manner.

It was followed by clarification of flood responses and accepting humanitarian assistance from ASEAN Coordinating Center for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management- AHA Center. During the meeting, discussions have been made upon regions/states damages, implementation for emergency services and preventative measures as well as issuance of flood warning according to township/ ward/village-tract and evacuation measures.
