Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, accompanied by the Deputy Minister and departmental personnel from the Road and Bridge Departments, inspected the emergency repairs to roads and bridges damaged by the flooding of Sin Thay Creek in Nay Pyi Taw Council area on Friday.

The Union Minister and party began their inspection at the NaWin River Crossing Bridge (Asone Bridge) on the Yangon-Mandalay Union Highway. There, they assessed damage from stream erosion and oversaw ongoing restoration work. He instructed that the restoration process be orderly, with careful record-keeping and swift completion.

Additionally, he inspected the installation of steel piles for the temporary bridge and its ramp section, prioritizing workplace safety. The Union Minister and party then inspected the construction of temporary baily bridge and damage at Sin Thay Creek Bridge (PopaGone) and reviewed reports from officials. He instructed that the bridge be opened to the public only after reassessing the levee's strength and completing any necessary repairs.

The Ministry of Construction is actively repairing the damaged areas of Sin Thay Creek Bridge (Thaikchaung) and its approach road by installing a temporary Bailey bridge on the route connecting Pobbathiri and Zeyathiri Townships, aiming for swift completion to ensure uninterrupted public access.
