Inspection of flood situation: Kayah State CM inspected situation of flooding

On 11th September, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin accompanied by the concerned officials inspected the inundated areas in Nant Kwot Ward and Bridge due to rising water level at Balu Creek.

During the inspection, the Chief Minister and party inspected the durability of retaining walls and the work undertakings to control water inflow into residential areas. The Chief Minister also stressed to conduct 24- hour water level monitoring and issuance of flood warning and emergency responses in timely manner if the water level exceeded above its danger level.

Subsequently, members of the state government and officials donated rice bags, edible oil and over 1 million kyats of cash assistance for the 639 flood victims from 177 households and comforted them. A total of 4 relief camps are planned to open and other necessary precaution measures are also conducted for effective response to emergency situations, it’s learnt.
