






Kayah State Government organized a ceremony, marking the International Literacy Day on Sunday. Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin attended the ceremony and made a speech, saying that high literacy rate is one of the essential points in assessing the development of the nation.
Kayah State Government is prioritizing for pursuing education by all school-going aged children, with the target to complete KG+9 level, and providing vocational education in agriculture, livestock and technological fields.
The Chief Minister urged all to strive for development of the society through high literacy rate. This was followed by reading of a message sent by the UNESCO Director-General and screening of a commemorative video clip on literacy activities. Winners at the commemorative competitions were awarded with the certificates of honour and cash prizes during the ceremony.
The Chief Minister and attendees later toured the commemorative booths displaying books and periodicals. Galleries and prize winning essays and paintings.
