Regional Meeting: Myanmar delegation attends the meeting in Laos

Myanmar delegation led by Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo of the Commander-in-Chief Office on Thursday attended the 21st ASEAN Chiefs Of Defence Forces Meeting (ACDFM-21) in Vientiane of Lao PDR. During the meeting, Meeting Chairman and Chief of General Staff of Lao People's Army delivered an opening remark.

This was followed by presenting the reports of 21stASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting (AMIM-21) and 14th ASEAN Military Operation Meeting (AMON-14).  Attendees later made discussion under the title “ASEAN-Together for Peace, Security and Resilience”.

The meeting also approved Two Years Work Plan and Joint statement (2024-2026), finalized discussion and singing on Joint Statement of ACDFM -21. After delivering closing speech by the meeting Chairman, duties of rotating chairmanship of ACDFM together with flag were haded over to the leader of Malaysian Armed Forces who later extended greetings.

In the afternoon, Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo met with the delegations from Thailand, Viet Nam and Cambodia on separate occasions. During these meetings, they cordially discussed matters on promotion friendship among the armed forces and strengthening cooperation.

In the evening, the Myanmar delegation attended the dinner reception hosted by the Chief of General Staff of Lao People's Army. After having dinner together with the delegations, gifts were exchanged among the delegations of ASEAN member states. Similarly, Myanmar delegations also attended 14th ASEAN Military Operations Meeting (14th AMOM) and 21st ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting (AMIM-21) which were successfully held on 3rd September.
