International Events: Myanmar delegation visit Moscow

Myanmar delegation led by Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo attended the International Transport Summit-ITS (2024) and International Municipal BRICS Forum (2024) hosted in Moscow, Russian Federation from August 21st to 29th.

On the 22nd, the delegation attended the inaugural event of the ITS, where they signed the Urban Transport Data Project joint declaration and engaged with a presentation titled "Moscow Transport Complex," showcasing Moscow's transport advancements.

Later that day, they toured the Sokolniki Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Plant. The following day on August 23rd, the delegation engaged in the International Roundtable discussions. There, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than TunOo participated in Session 2.1, addressing "Transport, Ecology, and Health in Nay Pyi Taw," while Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein took part in Session 1.2, focusing on "Safety and Traffic Management, respectively.

This was followed by a visit to the Menege exhibition at the Central Exhibition Hall. In the evening, they attended a reception hosted by the Moscow government for summit representatives. From August 24th to 26th, the Myanmar delegation toured the Kremlin Palace, Moscow Planetarium, Moscow River, Triumphal Gate, Panorama 360 Tower, and Ostankino Tower.

They then participated in the International Municipal BRICS Forum on August 27th and 28th, where the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman presented on "Trends in the Development of Tourism Infrastructure in Nay Pyi Taw." The delegation departed for Yangon on August 29th.
