A group of indigenous Aymara women met in the community of Molino, at over 4,000 meters above sea level, to participate in a horse race they say discriminates between male and female jockeys.

They lament that they do not have the same rights as their male riders, who participate in different categories. Women ride only in a so-called general category where neither the types of horses nor the ages of their riders are taken into account. Many of them participate in horse races just as their parents and grandparents did.
