Union National Races Village: MOEA Union Minister inspects renovation works

Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs JengPhangNawTaung accompanied by officials on 30th August visited Union National Races Village in Thaketha Township where they observed the renovation of Traditional houses of ethnics - Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Bumar, Mon, Rakhine and Shan.

They also oversaw the painting of administrative buildings, renovation of concert hall and Union hall, water and power supply, and dredging works, as well as the courses of Ethnic Traditional dances and Keyboard playing. In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with the staff serving at the Union National Races Village (Yangon).

Emphasizing the significant role of the National Races Village to study the traditional culture, custom and historical records of ethnic people, the Union Minister stressed the need to maintain and renovate the facilities.

He also urged the staff to make explanation on the displays to the visitors based on union spirit. He also instructed to submit the budget proposal in 2025-2026 fiscal year for maintenance of the facilities with the technologies to become a greening and beautifying place.
