Meeting with Female Cadets: Senior General visits training schools in Hmawby

Chairman of the State Administration Council, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on Saturday met with officer and other ranks of Hmawby Air base headquarters, female cadets of Defence Services (Army) Officer Training School (Hmawby), and trainees of the Platoon Commander (female) course on separate occasions.

In his speech, the Senior General said that in building the modern Tamadaw, it is necessary to promote the Power of Tatmadaw (Army) but also Navy and Air. Tamadaw (Air) has been upgraded in successive era and provided airplanes and helicopters in accordance with the current situation. 

Myanmar is the first country that operates fighter jets in ASEAN and among South-east Asian nations. Myanmar also nurtured Aviation Specialist officers and other ranks as well as female officers serving in flying duties, keeping abreast with male.

Highlighting the country’s defence policy as Active Defence, the Senior General stressed that there are not only ground forces but air supports involve in operating the battles. To implement the State Defence policies by the Power of Air, it is necessary to conduct systmatic training as well as to build the ability and spirit of individual. 

He pointed out the need to follow the practical exercises with perseverence during the training course so as to perform their respect duties efficiently. Then the Senior General and party had a lunch together with femal cadets of Defence Services (Army) Officer Training School (Hmawby), and trainees of the Platoon commander (female) course.

On arrival at the Defence Services (Army) Officer Training School (Hmawby), the Commandant reported on the courses conducted in the school and training duties. Upon the report, the Senior General said it is necessary to train fully to be a skillful person and instructed the needs regarding the training. Later, the Senior General and party inspected the training schools, local battalion and military unit in Hmawby by a motorcade.
