








Libraries Development and Promoting Reading Habit Festival was held at the Basic Education High School in Tachileik of Shan State (East) on August 30th.
The festival was jointly organized by the Information and Public Relations Department and Basic Education Department under the supervision of the District Libraries Development Supervisory Committee.
The festival aimed to familiarize students with books and periodicals, fostering a reading habit and enhancing library culture.
Principal, Basic Education High School (Tachileik), Than Than Hla said "We are truly honored to organize this festival at our school. Through this activity, we aim to encourage and support students in nurturing their reading habits. Although library time is included in the class timetable, we can do more to meet the needs of the library and attract more children to enjoy reading and expand their knowledge."
The festival also showcased a Photo Gallery, Educative Booths on Narcotic Drugs and Traffic Rules, Subject Booths, and Vocational Education Booths.
Students also enjoyed a range of fun activities while participating in the various competitions.
Principal, Shan (East) Tazaung Private School, Htein Lin Aung said "33 students from our school participated in the Impromptu, Painting, Storytelling and Poem Reciting Competitions of this festival. We also exhibited the educative booths including middle school science, STEAM subject, and vocational education, together with the Me Day Private School."
Grade-10 Student, Basic Education High School (Haungleik), Eaint Thiri San said "I really appreciate for having a chance to participate in this festival. I won first prize in the high school level essay competition. Through this competition, I gained a lot of knowledge. The festival was very enjoyable, as it included a variety of fun activities. We also had the chance to meet students from across Tachileik District and exchange knowledge."
During the ceremony, prizes were presented to those who excelled in the competitions. Also, books and periodicals were donated for the school library.
