The CEO of South Korean lithium battery manufacturer 'Aricell' and CEO of metal company Young Poong’s Seokpo have been arrested on Friday following a massive factory fire that killed 23 people. A South Korean court authorized early Thursday an arrest warrant for CEOs after prosecutors declared the violated a South Korean law that holds companies criminally liable for serious industrial accidents.

They face charges of violating the Serious Accidents Punishment Act following the death of workers due to insufficient safety measures. Attention is drawn to how the Supreme Court will rule on the deadly factory fire, being the largest human casualty incident since the law’s implementation.
