Venezuela calls rejection of Maduro's re-election by 11 countries 'interference'

Venezuela called the rejection of Maduro's re-election validation by 11 countries an "unacceptable act of interference."

The United States and 10 Latin American countries issued a joint statement rejecting the Venezuelan Supreme Court's certification of President Nicolas Maduro's July 28 re-election, which has been widely contested both at home and abroad.

Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, the United States, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay stated that the court's ruling was invalid due to a "lack of independence and impartiality."
