





Chairman of the State Administrtion Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited Taungoo on Friday, to oversee the measures for conservation of ancient heritage in Kaytumady Old Town.
On arrival at the local Air Base, the Prime Minister heard reports on salient points of the Kaytumady Old Town, feasibility studies for excavating the ancient palace, City Wall and Moat, plans for construction of new prison in Taungoo, a detour road and annex town.
The Prime Minister instructed for systematic implementation of the excavation works phase by phase, with moving the building as necessary. He added that the new prison must be built with standard security measures, while plans have to be made for long term durability of the new facilities, ensuring greening environ.
He added that efforts have to be made for boosting production of agriculture and livestock industry, while striving for education promotion activities for development of the region. Emphasizing the strategic location of Taungoo, the Prime Minister called for cooperation of all concerned officials to make cooperative efforts for regional development works.
Then, the Prime Minister and party inspected the ancient Kaytumady town, city moat and wall, instructing to carry out the tasks with systematic measures. The Prime Minister and party later took a train ride from Taungoo Station to Thaung Taing Kone Station, and inspected the chosen site for new Taungoo Station.
They also oversaw the rail section between Taungoo and Yedashe for its durability and implementation of agriculture and urban development works along the road.
