Commemorative Event: World Breastfeeding Week and Nutrition Promotion Week

The Kayah State level event, marking the 2024 World Breastfeeding Week and Nutrition Promotion Week was held at the City Hall of Loikaw on this morning.

Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin made an opening speech, urging all to nurture human resources, equipped with the capabilities in physical and intellectual performance to participate as the major driving force in the country's development process. He called for speeding up the efforts for nutrition promotion activity, which is fundamental and important for the emergence of intelligentsia in the future society.

Then, the State Public Health Officer explained the important things to know about the nutritional development of pregnant women, followed by screening of a video clip on activities of Nutrition Promotion Weeks.

During the ceremony, prizes were awarded to the winners of the Knowledge quiz on nutrition development.

Then, the Chief Minister and officials viewed round the display booths commemorating the Nutrition Promotion Week. The Vitamin-A supplements were also fed to the children under five years, and nutritious tablets to the expectant mothers.
