
A coordination meeting to finalize the second amendment bill for the Counter-Terrorism Law was held at the Ministry of Legal Affairs on Wednesday.
Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General Dr Thida Oo gave an opening speech at the meeting. Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Toe Yi made explanation on the amendment of the law.
The meeting assessed that the second amendment law is necessary for the state. the second amendment to the Counter-Terrorism Law was drafted to implement the financial actions required by Myanmar as outlined in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) report.
If the amendment was enacted, it could help implement one of the facts included in the FATF report, supporting the progress in Myanmar’s efforts to avoid listing in the Counter Measure List.
