Flood Prevention Measures: Feasibility study to mitigate inundation in Kachin State

Kachin State Government is making feasibility study for flood prevention and mitigating the losses due to the disaster.

On August 17th and 18th, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan together with a study team from Nay Pyi Taw conducted survey for water inflow condition from Ayeyawady River and the possible areas for inundation in Myitkyina. The team made assessment for constructing a Sluice Gate in Rampu Ward. They also conducted feasibility study in Waimaw Township, and assessed the plan to build a retaining wall.
