Aerial firefighting continues in Turkish city Izmir

Efforts to extinguish five forest fires in Turkish provinces of Izmir, Aydın, Manisa, Bolu and Karabuk continue from the air and on the ground. To respond to the ongoing fires, 366 ground vehicles, including water trucks and construction equipment, are being used, as well as 53 aircraft, including 42 helicopters and 11 airplanes.

In addition, the Be-200 Amphibious Firefighting Aircraft, which can carry and drop 12 tons of water, contributes to operations. The fire, which started in the Karsiyaka district, entered its third day and spread to residential neighborhoods and an industrial site in the early morning hours of Saturday, leading to the evacuation of three neighborhoods.
