Drone delivery in Great Wall Scenic area

The Badaling Great Wall Scenic Area in Beijing launched the city’s drone delivery service on Friday. The delivery spot for this route is set at No.9 Watch Tower of the southern extension of the Badaling Great Wall, which opened to the public in late 2023.

This area retains most of the original ruined state of the ancient defense structure and provides limited access for adventure, hiking, field study, and summer camping groups where no store facilities are available making it hard for visitors to replenish food, water, and emergency supplies.

To shoot this trouble for visitors, the scenic area administration cooperated with the delivery company Meituan to launch the drone delivery route. Visitors can place orders through the mobile app and receive packages in a few minutes.
